Teaching Taoist Inspired Yin/Yang Yoga: Cultivating the Internal Ebb & Martial Flow!

with Gabrielle de Burke

E-RYT 200, YACEP, Tao Yin /Taoist Yoga Level II & NQA Level II Qigong Instructor

Part II of the 30 Hour Teacher Training Immersion

Learn to be an Instructor of Taoist Yoga through the Dragon Spirit Arts Yoga School (Certified by Yoga Alliance). This one of a kind Teacher Training Immersion brings together the two ancient systems of Kundalini Yoga & Tao Yin Lung Shen Chi-kung into a Fusion style that incorporates Moving & Still Meditations. The Philosophy behind the Posture Flows & Poses practiced are infused with 20+ years of practice by the Lead Trainers steeped in various Taoist Martial/Internal Arts systems and the Yogic Arts traditions.

The Immersion provides an opportunity to expand your yogic studies into the realms of the Taoist Internal/Martial Arts. If you are already teaching professionally, add this to your base of knowledge and experience, plus all hours can be submitted as CEC's through Yoga Alliance. However, many people enroll in this program with the intention of deepening their own practice, or as a journey of self-discovery and personal development. To make a total of 30 hours, additional non-contact hours will be fulfilled by viewing assigned video and reading materials and completing writing assignments based on training experience.

Plan for each weekend to be led through workshops covering a variety of topics in the teacher training curriculum that includes lecture and discussion, techniques training and practice, teaching methods, anatomy & physiology, philosophy and ethics and lifestyle of the yogic arts.

We will delve into fundamental aspects of the Taoist “Yin” & “Yang” practices. Key anatomical and philosophical concepts will be introduced, investigated and elaborated upon, plus trainees will practice the art of teaching. In addition, we will analyze still postures/posture flows, discuss quality of movement as is relates to Yin/Yang aspects, the 5 Elements (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood & Fire) & the Taoist Meridian System/Traditional Chinese Medicine, explore the similarities/differences with the Ayurvedic Medicine practices and how they ultimately come together through this “Fusion” style practice. Guided visualization and writing exercises will also be offered to support the development of teaching with an authentic voice and to foster finding our own “way” of facilitating. The internal ebb of still meditation and the martial flow of meditative movement concepts will be studied and practiced.

Certificates of Completion will awarded to those who complete the Course(s). A follow up reading & writing assignment will be required to receive the Certificate of Completion. This course offers a Certificate of Completion & is Yoga Alliance certified (30 CE Credits available to RYT's & ERYT's).
