Detox for the Equinox

Spring into Purification Practices with this workshop. This is a practice to stimulate detox, to use poses to promote purification to honor the body through the passage of the Spring Equinox The Spring Equinox signifies a time of natural balance on earth, and the season of spring holds a time-honored tradition throughout many civilizations for purification practices. It’s a symbolic time in rhythm with nature and our body to practice various forms of cleansing. In the winter months, the body tends to contract from the cold, thus holding in a lot of toxins; in the spring/summer months the body begins to expand from the warmth, thus purging toxins (if given the right circumstances). This workshop will explore various Yoga postures and Qi-gong techniques that promote and support detoxification of the muscular and joint tissue, digestive system and various organs; we will emphasize the use of visualization techniques, breath exercises, self-massage (using acupressure), energy centering/balancing practices, still meditative poses in combination with moving posture flows.

The Tao
of Yin

In the Dragon Spirit Yoga™ “The Tao of Yin" Restorative Workshops, we derive the healing benefits from a style of practice that combines the Taoist & Vedic Internal Arts of Tao Yin Chi-kung & Restorative Yoga. In this monthly workshop, practitioners will be challenged to listen to the innate inner wisdom of the body/spirit/mind connection. Through meditations in long-held restorative poses, gentle flowing movements, self-massage techniques and breath-work exercises, negative patterns are reshaped along the landscape of the practitioner. Thus, the internal energy pathways, points and energy centers release negative blockages and are strengthened from within. Stimulating the “Chi“ or “Prana” energy in this way, promotes detoxification of major organ/glandular systems and mobilizes muscle and connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, cartilage, etc.). Participants will explore the art of finding “stillness from within” while “going with the flow”… in all aspects of the mind, spirit and body of the practice. More on Tao Yin]. These workshops are accessible to range of experience from beginners to intermediate and advanced practitioners.

Sound Journey & Yogic Fusion Flow

Derive the healing benefits from a style of practice that brings together a fusion of the Taoist Arts of Qi-gong and the Vedic Arts of restorative yoga techniques amidst healing musical soundscapes. Practitioners will be challenged to listen to their innate inner wisdom by exploring the art of finding “stillness from within” while “going with the flow”. In the process of cultivating stillness with mindful movement and guided meditations, allows for inspiration from live music incorporating sound healing vibrations… with an intention that seeks to balance all aspects of the mind, spirit and body of the practice. Through restorative poses, gentle flowing movements and healing sounds, negative patterns may be reshaped along the landscape of the practitioner; thus, the energy pathways, points and energy centers release negative blockages and are strengthened from within on a more internal level. Music is a healing tool that has the capacity to set our minds free, connect us to our spiritual essence and engage us in the natural rhythm of our body’s needs. Stimulating the “Chi“ or “Prana” energy in this way, promotes detoxification of major organ/glandular systems, realigns the skeletal structure and mobilizes muscle and connective tissues (ligaments, tendons, cartilage, etc.) for optimal “flow”. Sync into the rhythm of the breath as the body aligns with the steady mind. Allow the mind to listen to body honoring how the body speaks to the mind. These workshops are accessible to range of experience from beginners to intermediate and advanced practitioners.
