The Art of Asana Alignment to Advance the Practice & Teaching of Vinyasa will be available both Online via Zoom or in person at our studio location (space is limited)!
This workshop is designed as a Continuing Education course Certified through the Yoga Alliance (YACEP) to offer CE Credits to RYT's & ERYT's or anyone looking to expand their knowledge & ability to support their students in the Asana Alignments necessary to Advance a practice steeped in the Vinyasa style.
The course will go over protocol for health contradictions because “one way of approaching does not fit all”, recommended prop use, modifications, finding your students alignment, various types of Poses (Asymmetrical/Symmetrical Standing, Seated, Twists, etc.) & Posture Flows that align well into a safe sequence, plus other valuable techniques for offering a no pressure teaching approach.
Working with the internal art of being in “Vertical Alignment" will be investigated, as will the well-grounded positions associated with the martial arts concept of “Stance before Striking the Pose” be explored & applied to the practice of different categories of Poses. An overview of the Fundamental Postures associated with the various categories will be presented to support application of the alignments that help to advance the practice & teaching of vinyasa. Additional alignment principals will be put into action & the tools of balance using the" feet & hand points" & the pads of the fingers/toes as "points of extension." The alignment principals of "Internal & External Rotation" will also be presented in relation to the categories of poses. The use of language & voice when teaching these fundamental postures will also be explored along with the experience of receiving verbal cues & adjustments to help build on the vocabulary development .
Certificates of Completion will be awarded to those who complete the Course. Also, a follow up reading & writing assignment will be required to receive the Certificate of Completion.
