The Art of Teaching Yin Yoga: Creating Accessibility without Props!
This YACEP course will be offered both in Online via Zoom/In-person @/from Dragon Spirit Arts Studio!
This workshop training is designed as a Continuing Education course Certified through the Yoga Alliance (YACEP) to offer CE Credits to RYT's & ERYT's or anyone looking to expand their knowledge and ability to create an accessible Yin Yoga meditation / Chi-kung inspired practice without depending on Props. Stretch your experience to think outside the box that Yin Yoga has become popularized into and step back toward the roots that combine still meditative holds and flowing postural movements. Explore the essence of the Yin Yoga practice before multiple props were seemingly required to get one in to a present state of mind that can be adapted so its appropriate for class settings where all levels are present (or even with consideration someone might show up to practice without the props in-person/virtually (particularly during a time when props are not provided in studios/not everyone has access to props at home).
The course will go over protocol for health contradictions, recommended prop use where it’s clearly a necessity, making modifications, various poses and posture flows plus other valuable techniques for offering a low-pressure teaching approach. Using the information presented, we will learn how to adapt in the moment-to-moment perspective of our teaching experience, thus instilling a compassionate attention to alignment in the mind-body relationship so that we can lead by example. This course will offer creative lesson planning ideas accessible to a range of students seeking a meditative engagement in Yin Yoga.
This course offers a Certificate of Completion and is Yoga Alliance certified (8 CE Credits available to RYT's & ERYT's). Certificates of Completion will be awarded to those who complete the Course. A follow up reading, writing and practice assignment will be required to receive the Certificate of Completion.
