About Verita aka “Cookie”

For years, Verita had “talked the talk” about her interest in yoga but had not put forth the effort to getting there.  In 2015, Verita walked into a yoga studio for the first time. She knew then that she was going to incorporate yoga into her life and make it a way of life. After visiting other yoga studios, Verita didn’t feel very comfortable with the climate around her. In 2017 after having Thanksgiving dinner with a longtime family friend, Helene Von Rosensteil, she was invited to visit the Dragon Spirit Arts Yoga studio. Needless to say, after Verita’s first practice with Helene, and then Gabrielle, she had found her fit. In January 2019, Verita wanted to deepen her practice by signing up for the 50-hour yoga immersion. Unbeknownst to her at the time, fellow classmates were signed up from the beginning to continue on to the 200-hour yoga teacher training. By the end of the 50-hour immersion, Verita was in too deep to stop there. It didn’t take much for her classmates to encourage her to continue on to the teacher training. Verita has stated that this was one of the best decisions that she had ever made in her life.

In 2016, Verita returned to college where she is studying Social Gerontology at Chestnut Hill College and will be graduating in 2021. Her goal is to teach and incorporate Yoga, overall wellness, and assistance with quality life to aging adults. In May 2020, Verita completed her certification as a Professional Life Coach and Disaster Recovery Coach which helps clients to reach their goals in various areas of life, and to help people to recover from any disasters that they may have experienced. Verita plans to continue her journey of Yoga practice and awareness of her indigenous connection to the earth.
