About Judy Glass

Judith Glass is a lifelong health and wellness enthusiast. Her philosophy is "If you want to keep moving, you have to keep moving!" She strongly believes that the best exercise or workout for an individual is the one that they actually DO. Never finding a niche in sports and not naturally strong or flexible, she took up weight training in her 20s to overcome those limitations.

She was introduced to yoga over 22 years ago when her mother gave her a few instructional videos produced by Yoga Journal, featuring teachers such as Rodney Yee, Susan Deason, and Patricia Walden, and found that yoga really resonated with her, both physically and spiritually. She continued to build her home practice acquiring videos by Shiva Rea and others, and began learning the Pilates method for the mat as well. Through the combination of these practices, she feels healthier and stronger and more grounded than any weight training ever provided.

The opportunity to teach arose at her workplace, where free yoga classes were available for staff, when one of the instructors announced she was leaving, and tapped Judy to take over some of the schedule, having already observed her proficiency in class. Judy accepted the mantle and has now been teaching mat and chair yoga since 2015. "One of the best things about teaching yoga," Judy says, "is when you see your students come alive on the mat or in the chair as they learn to flow in their yoga practice. They blossom, lift, and relax. I like to encourage them to take what they have experienced in their practice out into their regular life and work." She is thrilled to be part of the community of Dragon Spirit Arts.
